Family History Reports & Family Tree Charts
The type of report that is appropriate for your project will depend upon your objective in commissioning the research. I can produce either a traditional genealogical research report in which the emphasis is on the research process, or a family history report which brings together all the information found into a comprehensive family story. For some projects, a combination of the two is needed.
~ Family History Reports
I specialise in researching and writing multi-generation family histories with the emphasis on presenting your ancestors' story in an attractive and understandable form, while still ensuring that all the supporting evidence and explanation is included.
My experience as a professional editor and publisher enables me to present the wealth of information discovered from the research into a beautiful book which you will be proud to own and show to your family.
Each project is tailored to your personal requirements and budget.
The most efficient and compact way of presenting all the information I will discover about your ancestors' lives is in a Structured Family History Report. Narrative reports compiled using a family history program provide a detailed individual biography about each family member, arranged a logical sequence, and accompanied by clear and attractive family tree charts. This report can be prefaced with an overview of the family which highlights the key points of the story across the generations.
The most comprehensive report is the Family Folios Heirloom Report, which incorporates not only the biographical information discovered about your ancestors but also a great deal of background research to put their activities into historical context. The result is a lengthy and detailed book, personally authored and arranged in chapters. Where possible, contemporary accounts will be chosen to bring the story to life, and the volume (typically 150-200 pages) will be illustrated throughout with relevant maps, drawings, photographs and family tree charts.
Although presented so that the story of your family can be read and enjoyed as a book, the report nevertheless includes all the detail essential for a rigorous and verifiable genealogy.
An Heirloom family history report will include
If you have a collection of interesting family documents or old family photographs, I can scan and enhance a selection of them for inclusion. I can also incorporate photos of medals or other inherited objects which have a family story attached. To complete the project, information about the modern generations of your family, supplied by you, can also be added ~ if necessary, further research can be undertaken to verify and supplement this area of the tree.
Printing & binding ~ Most clients order a single copy of their family history report. This is supplied in hardback presentation binder with soft leather effect cover and acid-free inner leaves. I print on quality paper stock (meeting the ISO 9706 standard for permanent paper). Even more luxurious binding options are available, such as traditional thread-sewn case binding in library buckram or leather. Part of the joy of having a professionally-produced family history is being able to share it with other members of your family. Digital printing has made it realistic have even just three or four copies printed in colour and bound as a hardback book.
Large-format family tree charts ~ The perfect accompaniment to a family history book is a professionally printed banner-size drop-line chart showing the entire family tree. These make a lovely gift for family members, and it is possible to order as many additional copies as you would like.

~ Genealogy Research Reports
For research-focussed commissions (for instance, to solve a specific mystery, to support or extend your own research, or in preparation for a family biography) the most suitable format will be a traditional genealogy research report. This will give a detailed description of the research undertaken and what was found, including the logical process by which conclusions have been reached and recommendations for future work. A typical research report usually covers 4-8 hours research.
~ Ancestral Tourism Report

The whole package was of the highest quality, from the actual portfolio in which it was provided, to the detailed trees, the economic, social and historical background that provided context for my ancestors, plus of course the information about my family in particular. It was far more detailed than I anticipated; it confirmed some information that I already knew but also revealed some unexpected surprises!

My family history has been brought to life. People/places I had no knowledge of and yet felt a sense of connection with have surfaced. Angela takes great pride in her work, she listened to what I wanted and exceeded all expectation in the final project. Angela has a beautiful writing style and is able to deal with and report on old family secrets in a kind and sensitive manner. Angela offers a bespoke service as opposed to a set menu of options only, which proved invaluable for my particular circumstances. In fact this is one of the best things that I have ever purchased and is up there in my top 3 along with my first car and my wedding dress!

Angela, I have today received the book, CD and family tree in relation to the work you have done on tracing my wife’s paternal ancestry. I must say that the quality of the presentation and the way in which you have included so many related facts that I never imagined would be available has certainly exceeded my expectations - and all so professionally tied together. ...This will make a great present for my wife who I’m sure will be both delighted and fascinated by the work, as will her family. With many thanks and kind regards.

Used Family Folios as Angela was very approachable and understood the brief. The telephone discussion prior to carrying out the research was very useful. Clear reports, charts etc. presented in a clear and professional manner. Particularly like relevant historical background information and explanations on terms used in census forms. Prompt and reliable.
